tree creeper

Small, short-legged bird of the family Certhiidae, which spirals with a mouselike movement up tree trunks searching for food with its thin down-curved beak.

The common tree creeper Certhia familiaris is 12 cm/5 in long, brown above, white below, and is found across Europe, northern Asia, and North America.
