A Trumpeter during a battle ventured too near the enemy and was captured by them. For instance, assuming to myself the power of marshalling the aforesaid procession, I direct a trumpeter to send forth a blast loud enough to be heard from hence to China; and a herald, with world-pervading voice, to make proclamation for a certain class of mortals to take their places. The trumpeter and laugher, as their names express, utter a very different coo from the other breeds. |
