Failure or inability to control evacuation of the bladder or bowel (or both in the case of double incontinence). It may arise as a result of injury, childbirth, disease, or senility.

Stress incontinence can occur when someone is coughing or sneezing, while urge incontinence occurs when one feels a sudden strong urge to urinate.
Contrastingly, urge incontinence is when men experience such an overpowering need to urinate that they cannot quite make it to a bathroom in time to appropriately release their urine.
