capture

Saving of user actions as digital data that can be read by a computer. In real-time data communications, it refers to using software to log a session so that the session can be saved to a file. The term is also used with reference to screens, where the graphical material displayed on a computer screen may be saved as a picture file. In the study of human–computer interaction, the data captured are user keystrokes, mouse movements, and even facial expressions and muttered complaints so that developers can replay the session to help them design better user interfaces.
