vestibular disorder

In medicine, any disorder that is due to abnormalities in the membranous labyrinth of the inner ear. This part of the ear is involved in the maintenance of balance and in the transformation of sound waves into nervous impulses to be transmitted to the brain. Vestibular disorders include Ménière's disease and motion sickness.
