video capture board

In computing, expansion board for a personal computer which digitizes an incoming stream of analogue video. Video capture boards vary widely in the amount of data they can handle; the cheapest can handle only single frames, while the most expensive and full-featured can handle full-motion video. Once the video stream has been digitized, it can be stored, copied, digitally edited, or retouched on the computer.
