warrant

Financial security that gives the purchaser the right to buy a stock at a fixed price on a specified date. Warrants can be bought and sold on the stock market in a similar manner to stocks themselves. Warrant holders do not collect income, instead expecting to profit from capital growth and the difference between the purchase price and exercise price.
