webspinner

Gregarious webspinning insects that construct and live in silken tunnels. They are generally found living under stones or bark. There are 140 species, mainly tropical.

Webspinners are small and either brown or yellowish-brown, with smoky wings. The female is wingless and the males, usually, have two pairs of wings. Metamorphosis is absent in the females and slight in the males. The females take care of the eggs and young.
