whimbrel

Wading bird Numenius phaeopus, order Charadriiformes, with a medium-sized down-curved bill, streaked brown plumage, and striped head. About 40 cm/1.3 ft long, it breeds in the Arctic, and winters in Africa, southern North America, South America, and South Asia. It is related to the curlew.

And RSPB Conwy says it's had reports of willow warblers and whimbrels - both not usually seen until mid-April.
IT'S the bubbling, trilling call that gets tome every spring; not perhaps the most striking of our migrants, but whimbrels are certainly amongst the most evocative.
