whitebeam

Tree native to southern Europe, usually found growing on chalk or limestone. It can reach 20 m/60 ft in height. It takes its name from the dense coat of short white hairs on the underside of the leaves. (Genus Sorbus aria, family Rosaceae.)

It is a type of mountain ash.
