Wiki

Website that visitors can edit through their browser and which consequently becomes a collaborative website with input from different authors. Some wikis are entirely public, such as Wikipedia, the collaborative encyclopedia. Some are partly public, and some wikis are completely private and may be used as a host for a project, where the project members are not based in the same location.

The term wiki means ‘quick’ in Hawaiian.

Wikipedia is one of the largest examples of a wiki. It was founded in 2001 and now claims more than 2 million articles in the English version, and with 250 different language versions and 5 million registered editors.
