zydeco

Dance music originating in Louisiana, USA, similar to Cajun but more heavily influenced by blues and West Indian music.

Zydeco is fast and bouncy, using instruments like the accordion, saxophone, and washboard. It was widely popularized by singer and accordion player Clifton Chenier (1925–1987).
